We are going to talk about harm and the fear of causing harm today because it is an obstacle, or the illusion of an obstacle, for many of you, and it doesn't have to be.
First of all, you should focus on what you want and never on what you don’t want. Because the Universe does not understand pushing something away.
When you think, “I don’t want to get sick,” it strips out the “don’t” and reads it as “I want to get sick.”
Whether you believe this or not at this time, this is how it is. And you don’t have to accept this blindly from us, you can investigate this for yourself. We will get to how to do that later.
In short, our first point is: What you hold in mind tends to manifest, whether you want it or not.
So, be conscious and intentional with what you focus on.
Second, you can quickly turn what you don’t want into what you do want. It’s not that you shouldn’t pay any attention to what you don’t want. We are simply saying that you should not dwell on it and that there is a higher way.
So you can turn “I don’t want to get sick” into:
I am well. I am full of energy and vitality, able to do everything that I want with my body. All my systems are operating perfectly and in harmony with each other for my highest good.
Third, when you focus on avoiding harm, you are in fear, and when you are in fear you attract even more fear, and the thing that you are afraid of.
Said even more directly: The desire to avoid harm harms yourself and others. Period.
Now, we are not at all saying that you should go about your life carelessly and hurt others. Neither are we condoning harmful behavior. We are saying that there is a better, higher, more direct way, and that is simply by focusing on what you do want rather than what you don’t want.
Transmute your desire/fear of harm into something positive:
I want to be in my knowing in every moment. I want to know what is in my highest good and the highest good of those I interact with, and the highest good of all. I want to move towards what I do want. I want to know what I want clearly and in alignment with all parts of myself and the whole.
This is a much higher way of living your life in love.
We want to make one more very important distinction and then give you a practice.
The distinction: Harm is a matter of perspective.
When you see life through a lens of separation, or if you don’t know that you are an Eternal Being, experiences can seem harmful.
Through a bigger, higher perspective, they are lessons. They are upgrades.
The “harmful” event could be exactly what a person needs to progress to the next level of their development. And in fact, trying to shelter and protect them out of fear could be more detrimental.
Again, we are not condoning carelessness, and unfortunately, people have misinterpreted these teachings that way in the past, but that was a form of bypassing their true meaning.
We are saying: Do your best. Do it in love, not in fear. Do what is loving to you and loving to all.
And the practice we promised so that you can know this for yourself is:
Set the intention:
I want to know what I want with all my Being, and focus on that.
Practice turning things that you don’t want into what you do want. And just observe if that is working better or worse for you than focusing on what you fear. See how you feel.
That is all.
