Everything you encounter and experience serves your evolution. Every moment of experience. Because the ultimate purpose of All There Is is to experience itself. As what is without resistance. And if there is resistance, simply experience that.

The impediment to enjoying life is a frame of mind. The frame of "good and bad", "right and wrong", "better or worse". Of preference.

When people initially encounter these teachings they often meet them with resistance, confusion, anger, even. That is because they don’t initially understand the teaching because they are not present. All of this only applies to the present moment, which is the only moment that exists. Past and future are conceptual figments of imagination. You cannot go there.

When we say “have no preference” we are talking about the present moment. No matter how strong your desires and preferences are about the present moment, it is not going to change. What is, is.

"I am the Word of God." “I am” is not meant to be understood, it is meant to be experienced.

Or course you have desire, and preferences, but have the right relationship with them.

There is a difference between arguing with reality and having an intention about the future.

If you feel cold right now, accept that as it is. And you may have a desire to be warm, and take action to put on a jacket.

This statement seems common-sensical, but it is not being practiced. People have the tendency of complaining about what they don’t want, consciously, and for the most part unconsciously. As if complaining will make it better. It does not. The only way to improve a situation is to accept the present moment as it is and focus on what you do what without attachment.

That means, you can have an intention, but you do not attach your state of wellbeing to it. You can desire to be wealthy, or not.

This is the choice of unconditional happiness. Why would you choose anything else?

Saying “I’ll be happy if I get what I want” is a really shitty way to live, because what you want will always exceed what you have. That is the nature of wanting.

Instead, you can choose unconditional happiness. It is not an achievement, as you may have been led to believe. It is a choice. A decree. And it is the most powerful place from which to get what you want.

Think of it this way: Who is more attractive to you, a partner who has a long list of needs and expectations that you need to fulfill, or a partner who is always happy and enjoys whatever is happening?

We have another radical statement that may be hard for you to accept: All your needs are met in this moment. What you “need” is essential to your being. If your needs weren’t met, you would not “be”. You would not exist. The things you say you need are actually things you “want”.

And a lot of those are things you have been conditioned and programmed to want. Getting a college degree is not an innate human want, it is something that has been programmed through your culture.

The distinction between need and want is important, especially on an energetic level. “Need” perpetuates the old program of lack and scarcity that we are here to uplift. "Want" gives you choice and agency.

We invite you to journal, notice and reflect what you call needs, what you call wants, and where they come from. How do they each feel in your body? Do they make you feel expanded or contracted?

Even though we make bold statements, we don’t want you to accept, internalize, and regurgitate them blindly. This is not indoctrination. We invite you to inquire into what you read here in your own ways, and to conduct your own experiments to see what feels better to you.

For example, you could set the intention to notice when you say need and rephrase it as a want and observe how it feels. Or you can make a list of your needs and rephrase them as wants.

That is all.
